Your business idea is sound.
You’ve got the funding you need.
It’s time to register your business.

In order to operate a business of any size, you need to register with the relevant authorities. In Manitoba, you’ll need to contact the Companies Office to register your business.

At the Companies Office, you’ll reserve a name for your business. Your business name should reflect the nature of your business. The Companies Office will check the requested name and confirm if it is available for you to register.

Once your name reservation is completed, you will be given time to officially register your business name. At this point, you’ll also choose the form of ownership your business falls under: sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation.

It’s time to make your vision a reality.

Before starting to operate any business, business owners are required to obtain any relevant licenses and permits from the Province and local municipalities. For example: if you would like to open a food service business that will be open to the public, an inspection of your facility will be required through Manitoba Health.

BizPaL can help you explore the permits and licenses you may need to operate your business.

Economic Development and Jobs also offers a range of services to businesses and entrepreneurs at every stage of the business life cycle.
